How To Buy Costume Jewellery

Friday, 13. November 2009

A lot of women and young girls simply adore jewellery and love to receive it as presents. Here is a basic guide for buying costume jewellery.

If it is simple trinkets you are looking for then these can be found in any dollar store or at any swap meet. These tend to be extremely cheap and made of very thin cheap gold or even plastic. They have no designer names or anything else and this costume jewellery falls under the category of fashion jewellery and is made more for young teens and small girls than grown women.

You have some that may look real but is still very cheap. It is usually painted with gold color paint and may cause severe allergic reactions in some people. At the very least it may well turn your skin to a nice shade of green or any other number of colors. As a gift it is really only well suited for a friend or a teenager who may lose it or only wear it a few times anyway. If given as a gift I would be up front about it being costume jewellery.

The Grace of a Ladies Gold Watch

Tuesday, 13. October 2009

There are many women today who think more about the significance of their other jewelry – rings, necklaces and so on – that they forget to see the importance of the ladies gold watch. Gold watches accentuate a dressy outfit with grace and elegance. The tiny gold bands and small round faces with exquisite detailing on the hands of the watch create such an important part of a woman’s outfit, it is a wonder why so many people don’t realize how great these tiny timepieces can be.

Ladies gold watches glint in the light, and their shine can attract someone from across the room. They create a glow that is unmatched in its superiority.

Very famous and highly regarded gold watch makers such as Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Girard-Perregaux have many watches that can cost as much as 200,000 dollars per watch, but don’t worry, you won’t ever need to spend that much to get an adequate one. Cartier watches can run from 2-3,000 dollars to up to nearly 50,000. Movado is very well respected in the business of watches and has watches that start around 200 dollars and can run up into the thousands. So, you see, you won’t need a lot of money to buy an excellent ladies gold watch.

Is Your Home Full Of Titanium?

Wednesday, 8. July 2009

Strength and low weight are properties becoming more in demand in our country. Titanium has become the obvious choice for these applications. Racing industries like boats, auto, and motorcycles are rife with titanium parts. Many of the higher end cars like BMW and Mercedes have embraced titanium as a dependable and performance enhancing metal.

Another example of the effectiveness of titanium was the first massive use in the SR-71 blackbird aircraft. Since that time the military and commercial aircraft have an abundance of this metal throughout their aircraft.

Titanium is increasingly used in sporting goods equipment such as golf clubs, tennis rackets and bike frames. My favorite driver is made from titanium and it performs the best of any drivers I have used.

If you have allergy problems then you will appreciate jewelry and glasses that use titanium instead of traditional metals in their construction. Because titanium is hypo-allergenic it will be a problem free item to wear close to your skin.

Do horses prefer titanium? I would say that the answer is yes. When they are fitted with shoes that are made from titanium they are definitely going to feel much lighter and will last much longer. That is why farriers choose them over steel these days.

Titanium Makes It’s Way Into Consumer Goods

Strength and low weight are properties becoming more in demand in our country. Titanium has become the obvious choice for these applications. Racing industries like boats, auto, and motorcycles are rife with titanium parts. Many of the higher end cars like BMW and Mercedes have embraced titanium as a dependable and performance enhancing metal.

The SR-71 Blackhawk stealth aircraft was the first to use titanium on a large scale. Commercial aircraft and other military planes have huge amounts of this metal in their designs. Titanium really flies these days.

If you are a golfer then you know that titanium is making an impact on sporting goods as well. My Big Bertha Calloway driver is made of titanium and I am hitting the ball farther than ever. Baseball bats and hiking equipment also use a high amount of titanium.

The fact that it is hypoallergenic lends itself to everything from frames for your glasses to fine jewelry and unique wedding bands. Glasses in particular are lighter, and more durable. Great qualities to have in any metal.
