For better or worse, most people believe that how you dress is a reflection of your attitude towards all aspects of your life, including how you conduct business. It is therefore in your best interest to always dress sharply. If you work in an office you will find it greatly beneficial to purchase a tuxedo.
First impressions count for a lot. The old saying, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression,” is quite true. Having a tuxedo will tend to give you a leg up over anyone not dressed so smartly as you are. In business, a head start counts for a lot.
Your tuxedo can be used to fine-tune your appearance. For instance, if you wish to look like a successful businessman who is full of confidence, then you should dress in a power suit.
If you are tall and slim you can wear a double breasted with rounded lapels, maybe in the windowpane style. This, and the use of heavier, lighter toned fabrics will serve to “add bulk” to your frame.
Conversely, if you are larger or rounder, a black tuxedo with a subtle pinstripe could be the perfect choice. Both have a slimming effect, but avoid bold stripes. Read more... (441 words)

Everyone will at some time or other in their lives consider wearing a white tuxedo. There can be many different reasons for this, however it can often be inevitable that many will wear a white suit at the wrong time and place.
Sadly, there are very few occasions in which the white tuxedo is fashionably appropriate. It’s quite a pompous garment, so opportunities are few for wearing this sartorial disaster. Make sure you know when to wear white and when not to wear white.
You could wear a white tuxedo if you were Tom Hanks on the set of the movie “Big”. If you are the man from Del Monte, and you are here to say “yes”. Another occasion would be if your name is Tubbs or Crockett and you work for Miami Vice. The annual board meeting would not be a fit occasion.
No matter how glamorous the occasion, a white tuxedo should never be worn during the winter.
So, if you are going to a glamorous summer event, such as an overdressed outdoor wedding, it’s possible that a white tuxedo would be appropriate. The hotter the climate, the more acceptable men in white pants become! Read more... (396 words)

Right away, I am making the assumption that you are not a large man. Larger men should never wear anything patterned, because it only accentuates the body. Especially not a patterned tuxedo. Stick to a dark, or black tux which has a slimming effect, and if possible try to find a subtle pinstripe.
Four primary varieties of patterns exist. All the tuxes available are one of these four, or a subtle variation on one of these. The four main types are : solid, checked, pinstripe, and the windowpane. You’ll need to make your personal choice based on your tastes and needs, and this includes the accessories you’ll pair it with.
Decide if you want a tux for a formal business occasion or a more casual evening. If you are going out on the social scene, never wear a pinstripe.
Pinstripe patterns , which are essentially a power suit type of look, ought not to be worn by those with small frames, as the stripes only make you look even skinnier.
If you are slim and after a “power suit” go for a simple black tux without the pinstripes. The pinstripe, like all vertical strips, will make you look thinner. Keep it simple and straight forward. Read more... (413 words)
