The Pearl has been called the tears of the sea. An emotional statement for the lustrous organic gems that require no polishing or fussing with at all. Turquoise has that nubby feel of having just been extracted from a vein of rock. Dense in color at first then after polishing, the liquid color of a tranquil lagoon. Read more... (543 words)

Sterling silver beads are very interesting and admired metal to be utilized for making necklaces. The intricate designs make silver necklaces quite outstanding and eye-catching and with affordability compared to gold it can be worn by masses.
Majority of consumers think sterling silver is made of 100% pure silver but that is not true. The pure silver is very malleable and soft and does not retain its shape, thus it has to be mixed with other compounds to gain and retain a molded shape.
This is the reason that pure silver is mixed with substances like copper to form a sterling silver alloy. The composition is generally 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper.
Copper increases the tensile strength of silver and allows designers to mould it into different shapes and sizes to create the design of their choice.
Globally many different manufacturers prepare sterling silver beads to prepare different molded items like jewelry and crafts. The various manufacturers put in stamps to identify and differentiate their products of their competitors.
Therefore the buyers are able to see the country of origin of silver and also the manufacturer responsible for the production of the sterling beads that they are buying. Read more... (425 words)
