Black pearl is a rare tinted pearl that is naturally black in color and produced by Pinctada Margaritifera. The Pinctada Margaritifera is a saltwater pearl oyster that can grow to the size of a dinner plate. The pearl produced by this type of pearl oyster is black because of the black pigment that the oyster secretes. Black pearl is frequently referred to as Black Tahitian Pearls because the pearl oyster that produces it can only be found in Tahiti and French Polynesian Islands in the South Pacific Ocean.
Black pearl is very rare because Pinctada Margaritifera rarely produces pearls. White pearl oysters also rarely produce naturally black pearls. This type of oyster is sensitive to changing climate and ocean conditions. Jewelry, since time began offers a host of the mythical and superstitious. Some stones have healing powers, others will ward off sickness, offer protection, give courage and will even attract the opposite sex. We have all experienced at some time what our birth stone is and what it represents. As there are only twelve months in the year this offers us only the possibility of twelve different gem stones. We are familiar with January being the Garnet, a cousin to the Ruby, February the Amethyst, March the Aquamarine, April the Diamond, May the Emerald, June the Pearl, July the Ruby, August the Peridot, September the Sapphire, October the Opal, November the Topaz and December the Turquoise. Whilst this is all well and good there are some very fine stones out there that were not lucky enough to be chosen as a stone of the month.
Malachite, Lapis Lazuli and Opal come to mind as do Onyx, Tiger eye and Jade. All worthy stones in there own right and if you choose to make one of them your own personal favorite, well who is going to stop you. The price of an engagement is based on the diamond that it holds, although the setting also plays a factor. The diamond industry determines the value based on what is known as the “Four C’s.” The “Four C’s” stands for Color, Cut, Clarity, and Caret.
The following outlines a description of the “Four C’s” when determining the price of an engagement ring:
Color: The color of a diamond is assessed based on the deepness of the color. The higher quality and more expensive diamonds are colorless. The more colorless a diamond is the more valuable it is. Grading is performed on a scale from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow.)
Cut: The “cut” of the diamond means how the diamond was shaped to permit light to reflect from it. In a fine cut diamond, light enters the diamond and reflects directly into the eye of the person looking at it through a microscope or other stone examining device. Read more... (572 words)

Close to the Temple of Heaven lies a well-known pearl market. Every day it attracts many visitors from home and abroad. Recently I visited it on my way back to the Beijing GuoHong Hotel and was impressed with the Fanghua Pearl and Jewel store. If you want to find a beautiful pearl necklace, don’t miss this shop.
When I entered the shop, I found myself surrounded by a sea of pearls.The colors mainly included milk white, golden yellow, pink, and black.
A shop assistant Ms. Carrie greeted me. She told me her company is the No.1 retailer of high quality pearls. Pearls here are organized into three categories: fresh water pearls, sea water pearls, and South Sea pearls.
Don’t worry about buying fake pearls here. The shop assistant here will explain to you how to distinguish real pearls from fake ones. There’s a rule for judging fine pearls: the rounder and shinier, the better.

The famous Pearl Market is very close to Beijing Haige International Hotel. Visitors from all over the world like to visit the Pearl Market for various items. When I visit a shop named Fanghua Pearl and Jewel, I was very impressed their beautiful, natural pearl necklaces. If you also want to give yourself a more elegant and noble look, don’t miss this shop.
This big shop is really a supermarket of pearls. Hundreds of pearl necklaces were displayed in showcases. They had many colors: golden yellow, pink, milk white, and black.
As the No.1 retailer of high-quality peals in Beijing, Fanghua has been in the business for twenty years. According to the shop manager, the main categories of pearls here are fresh water pearls, sea water pearls, and South Sea pearls.
Ms. Carrie explained to me how to distinguish real pearls from fake ones. There’s a rule for judjing fine pearls: the rounder and shinier, the better.

The Pearl Market close to the Beijing Avic Hotel is a hot shopping center. Every day it attracts a great number of people from all over the world. If you want to buy natural pearl jewelery for yourself or loved ones, I recommend you come here and to a shop named Fanghua Pearl and Jewel.
This well-decorated shop is on the 4th floor of the market. You will find numerous pearl necklaces neatly displayed in the shop. The colors included milk white, golden yellow, pink, and black.
