I have a few questions for you first of all. Do you like chocolate? Or does it go deeper than that? Do you love chocolate are you what is called a chocoholic? And lastly, was that attitude formed by store-bought chocolate such as Mars Bars, Galaxy and Snickers?
I asked all those questions because, if you love chocolate and all you have ever tasted is store-bought chocolate, you have a real surprise waiting for you one day. A really fantastic revelation. One day you will taste gourmet chocolate and it will bowl you over. It will make you regret all those days of your life that you had not known it.
Gourmet chocolate is to a Mars Bar what fillet mignon is to a beef sandwich or what champagne is to cheap wine. It sounds as if I am running Mars Bars down and I suppose I am in a way, but I do believe that they have their place in the hierarchy of the world of chocolate, it is just not near the top and when you have tried gourmet chocolate, you will agree with me. There are a lot people out there that are just hanging on to their old jewelry because they are either unwilling to part with it, or they don’t understand how easy it is to turn it into some cash. With the troubled economy, though, more people are starting to reevaluate their necessities and are changing their minds about their gold.
Many people are looking into the concept of a gold party as a way to part with their items and receive some much-needed cash. More than that, though, it’s an opportunity for a fun social gathering where friends and family can get together and sell off a lot of their unneeded gold.
Gold parties aren’t a new idea. They’ve been around for some time because there are a lot of people that feel reluctant about selling gold to pawn shops or other strange little shops. They fear that someone there will take advantage of them because they won’t have anyone there to support them. This isn’t a problem at a gold party.
The event involves someone hosting a gold party who invites friends or family to bring scrap gold, broken gold chains, or other gold items into their home for the evening. An appraiser is also present to value the gold and give cash to those willing to part with it. Read more... (448 words)

When looking to sell gold jewelry for cash, there are a few things you should know about the different types of gold and other precious metals out there. First you need to know if your gold is real gold or just gold plated or painted. It is possible to believe that your jewelry is real gold if it doesn’t have the karats imprinted on it somewhere. Gold plated items should include some sort of label such as GP. An easy way to tell for certain if your gold is real is to bring it in to a jeweler or pawnshop.
Gold can be either yellow gold or white gold. Yellow gold is just like its name. White gold is silver in color with a touch of yellow blended in. If a piece of jewelry is palladium white gold, it’s more gray or silver in color. Gold that is used for jewelry may be milled in a subtle shade of red, which is called rose or shades of green. The shading in green gold is very similar to 14K yellow gold only with a light green cast. Red gold has the appearance of copper that has been brightly polished, but it will not tarnish like copper. Gold has been of great value since as far back as recorded history goes (even when it was hard to obtain). It has been used as a symbol of wealth for centuries and will continue to do so for years to come. People in power through the ages have used gold to signify their wealth and power; the Egyptians are a perfect example. Just think about the California Gold Rush back in the’00’s when nothing was more important than striking it rich by finding a huge deposit of gold. Some of them would even keep some of the biggest nuggets as a prized possession rather than selling it. Gold really has been an important part of history.
And today is no different – the price of gold is extremely high going for over $1050 an ounce. Some say it may even double that in the near future. This is one of the main reasons that people are starting to sell off their old gold items that they don’t want anymore. There may be some gold in your home that you don’t use anymore that is just collecting dust in a jewelry box and you’re wondering what to do with it. Well the answer is simple sell it for cash. But how do you get the most cash for your gold? Read more... (698 words)

Texture is not something we think about when we are looking for Jewelry. The word texture is associated more with fabrics than the world of necklaces. But if you remember that texture is the feel of something, then Jewelry has it and a lot of it. Have you ever held a piece of Jade in your hands an experienced the cool sensation of the smooth or carved piece? The Orient has considered Jade to have healing powers. One can see why when a sense of peace evokes from handling Jade.
The smoothness of a large ball of polished Lapis has a feel of timelessness while the Pearl has a feeling of being alive as it wants to slip through you fingers. The Pearl has been called the tears of the sea. An emotional statement for the lustrous organic gems that require no polishing or fussing with at all. Turquoise has that nubby feel of having just been extracted from a vein of rock. Dense in color at first then after polishing, the liquid color of a tranquil lagoon. Read more... (543 words)

A stunningly brilliant diamond instantly makes any piece of jewelry beautiful. Moreover, knowing how a diamond becomes the precious stone that it is: makes one appreciate it even more.
Diamonds are essentially carbons that are crystallized at least 150 kilometers underneath the ground. Only the immense heat and pressure from the mantle of the Earth can give a diamond all the qualities that it has. They are then delivered to us by nature in kimberlite and lamproite magmas through volcanic eruptions.
When a diamond is made of pure carbon, it is transparent. However, other elements may attach themselves to the carbon atoms in the early stages of its formation thereby giving it some hint of light yellow or brown. The fact that only two percent of the gem quality diamonds are truly without any color makes this minority more valuable. But those whose colors go beyond the GIA scale are very rare and are therefore more valuable. Read more... (431 words)

In 1849, several thousands of people migrated to California to find out the gold deposits for making more and more money. Several methods were used by people to achieve gold but the widely used method was panning. People used to make attempts in search of gold for even months.
This was a highly desirable metal and people were not ready to end their struggle without achieving their goal. Their urge to find more and more gold increased with finding gold flake once. They eventually become more enthusiastic in their efforts and tend to strive much harder in lust of having more gold. If they achieved some flakes of gold in their first attempt, they used to struggle for more.
As the number of emigrants was increasing, the government also felt the importance of that once unknown place. The government also extracted the gold deposits.
