Diamond necklaces are absolutely stunning and if you choose the right cut of diamond, they can actually be breathtaking. The one cut that comes to mind that is ideal for a necklace is the princess cut diamond. If you want people to notice your necklace, a princess cut diamond pendant necklace is an easy choice.
If you are not sure of the style of cut that a princess cut diamond is, it is a very elegant square shaped diamond. It is this cut that enables the diamond to capture light in a rather unique way giving it a luster that few diamonds can match. This cut does not show flaws as much as other cuts do and can therefore end up being much less expensive.
While engagement rings are probably the most popular use of the princess cut diamond, there are plenty of others, including being used as a pendant. The shape of the diamond makes it an ideal fit in a variety of settings. You also have the luxury of getting a larger diamond for a pendant because of the lower cost of them. This gives you an opportunity to really wow your friends. Read more... (545 words)

He is making a promise to spend the rest of his life with you and to seal the deal he puts an incredible diamond engagement ring on your finger. Just by looking at it, you can tell that he spent a few months salary on it and you should protect that investment with insurance on your diamond engagement ring.
The moment you put that ring on, it is perfectly reasonable to expect you to lose grip in reality for a few days. Your life has officially changed forever, but when you come back down from that high, you are going to realize that you need to get that ring protected. The way to do this is by finding the right insurance policy just in case something happens.
When you are getting ready to insure your ring, you may want to consider a company that specializes in this type of insurance. A lot of women and young girls simply adore jewellery and love to receive it as presents. Here is a basic guide for buying costume jewellery.
If it is simple trinkets you are looking for then these can be found in any dollar store or at any swap meet. These tend to be extremely cheap and made of very thin cheap gold or even plastic. They have no designer names or anything else and this costume jewellery falls under the category of fashion jewellery and is made more for young teens and small girls than grown women.
You have some that may look real but is still very cheap. It is usually painted with gold color paint and may cause severe allergic reactions in some people. At the very least it may well turn your skin to a nice shade of green or any other number of colors. As a gift it is really only well suited for a friend or a teenager who may lose it or only wear it a few times anyway. If given as a gift I would be up front about it being costume jewellery. A diamond has long been cherished as the ultimate symbol of lasting love because of it’s purity and ageless beauty.
As a purchaser of diamonds for engagement rings, whether past, present or future, one may wonder why there is such variation in price from store to store. What characteristics constitute a $5,000 diamond versus one that costs only $500?
The grading system for diamonds is based upon four different elements. Firstly, size will play a large role in the price. This is referred to as the “carat weight,” and it is determined on a 100 point scale. The larger the carat weight, the higher the value.
Carat size may push the price up, but only slightly if there is no clarity. Several facets determine clarity on both an internal and external basis. Internal aspects, dubbed inclusions, and external aspects, dubbed blemishes, all contribute to the overall clarity score.
The number of inclusions as well as their size and tint all factor into the overall clarity score, as do the number and size of surface blemishes. A flawless diamond is at the top end of the clarity scale, referred to as ‘pure’. An inexpensive diamond may carry with it the classification of ‘heavily included’. Read more... (510 words)

Finding the perfect antique diamond ring will require more time and effort than if you went out and purchased a new quality gemstone. Rings manufactured in the 19th century had a different design and workmanship to them than contemporary pieces. Since some of these ancient pieces may have been passed down from deceased relatives, they will have a sentimental value attached to them.
If you decide to purchase an antique diamond ring, have an experienced jewelry look at it to see if it first needs to be repaired. This type of jewelry can be quite costly to repair and it may be necessary to find a different ring that will require little or no repair.
In order to find the perfect antique ring you use several sources for research. You can do a search on Google by typing in the keyword antique diamond ring; several websites will come up and you can click on any of them to see pictures and relevant information relating to that subject matter. This one source will help to educate you on the various designs available in the antique diamond industry. Jewelers are also helpful and if they do not sell antique jewelry, they can direct you to the best dealers who specialize in that field. Local bookstores are also a good source of information and several have an extensive selection of books relating to that subject matter. Doing this important research is critical since you do not want to be fooled into buying a synthetic diamond or purchasing a reproduction. Read more... (884 words)
