In the late 1800s soldiers of some countries wore leggings because they were good at keeping out mud and sand from entering their boots. The U.S military also used leggings during World War 2 but by 1944 they slowly began to disappear from military service. In the 1980’s there started a fitness craze and that was when leggings became very fashionable for women.
But before the 80’s in the 1960’s there was brief interest in leggings, they were made of cotton Lycra blend and they wore a wide belt at the top. But because they were figure hugging only women who were comfortable with their figure tended to wear them. The exercising ones that were mentioned earlier was a nylon Lycra blend.
Unbelievably by the early 1990s leggings had become even more popular than jeans. By the late 90’s though they all but disappeared and it was not until around 2005 that they made a com back. You know, I’ve always secretly wanted to have an amazing, unbelievably amazing briefcase. This thought usually comes up when I pseudo dream of being some high powered executive perhaps working in a city like New York City.

Malaysian batik is said to have come from the early Javanese batik, which were exported into Malaysia for sale. At the very least, its apparent that the early Malaysian batiks were very much influenced by the Javanese style.
The Javanese batik is produced with cultural and religious beliefs in mind. It originally was made with only 3 colours – that of indigo, white and dark browns. May seem a bit bland but batiks have been around for a very long time so the original dyes were all purely natural products and thus limited in colours. Social standing and rank of a particular individual is given by the design of his or her batik.
The Indonesian batiks vary by region – Javanese is different to any other of the Indonesian styles. As mentioned, this has a lot to do with religion and cultural beliefs. The batiks in the north of Java tend to be more colourful because its more of a multi-cultural society there as opposed to in the south.
